A Day in Santa Fe!

Since it was finally the weekend (and we did not have to work), we could do something during the day that didn't revolve around what time it was (with the exception of keeping Belle's crankiness and hunger levels in check).

Another site seeing adventure guests of Hotel GAK and Sarah experience is a day trip up to beautiful Santa Fe! (Did you know you go past Las Vegas to get there? :P )

Perry suggested we hit up Cafe Pasqual's for lunch. Of course there was a wait to get in, but it was certainly worth it. The food was really good!

Sarah, while we were waiting for lunch. They sat us a big community table with other guests. There were people from as far as Boston seated at the table with us.

After lunch, we stopped in a chili shop to do some shopping, and then made our way into the area that had local street vendors. That's where this sign is located.

A shot of the detail on one of the churches in the area.

Belle looking like a break dancer! She got that candy ring all over everything. I'm sure Gerrit was not amused in the least. ;P

One of my favorite shots of the day was this snippet of a wooden fence I noticed while we were walking around the town.

I saw this piece of art in a park full of all of these metal sculptures that had moving parts on them. Santa Fe has a ton of art galleries and little art shops.

Look! A wedding! The bride and groom were just coming out of the church as we were walking by.

One of the coolest art gallery places was this bronze-work place that had tons of different animals all over the outside (and inside) of their gallery space.

Of course I had to take a photograph of the pig! I really wanted to buy something here, but not only were a lot of the pieces large, but they were really expensive as well. Perhaps one day after I win the lotto!

On the way out of town, we stopped at a place called Jackalope. It's this indoor/outdoor craft mall type of place, where a lot of local artists showcase their creations. They have a ton of these pots, some turned into water features. I wouldn't mind a few of these for the yard! They are cool (but huge).

Now how could I pass up this totally cool hummingbird feeder???

OH HAI!!!

Apparently right smack in the center of this place is an area where they have prairie dogs! They are totally cute, too! I counted at least 6 between the ones sitting outside and the ones going in and out of their dirt tunnels.

Speaking of cute, here's Isabelle sitting on this giant chair. Still am unclear as to its purpose except to have cute little kids sit on them for neat photo ops!
