ABQ Day 2
Today was mostly work and some play. Gerrit and I had to meet our client and the rest of our coworkers downtown so we could get some work done (mostly writing reports). We all cut out at about 1 for lunch to
The Grove Cafe
, an organic centered deli / cafe in downtown Albuquerque. It took us awhile to find the place, but it was worth it. The food was fantastic - I had another sandwich (this time with avocado on it, of course). Avocado should be its own food group, they are that heavenly.
Almost all the photos I took today were of Isabelle. Little kids are way too much fun to capture on camera to NOT be enthusiastic about photographing them! They always have the best facial expressions. I guess this is most likely due to their view of the world and how everything must appear new and interesting to them.
After Gerrit and I got back from work, we took Isabelle to the park near their house. This is Isabelle leading Sarah through the grass.
Isabelle obviously finds something fascinating as evidence in this shot.
Here it looks likes she spotted a bug or something.
Here mother and daughter share a kiss before we left the park to head back home before dinner.
I was hoping I would see some birds in New Mexico that I have never seen before, and are not native to the midwest. This Great Tailed Grackle spent a lot of time with her friends in Gerrit's backyard and neighborhood.
Another of the Great Tailed Grackle before the four of us headed off to
Gardunos
for dinner. Good food, and my first formal introduction to authentic New Mexican food. I'm now a lover of both green and red chili's! I even tried a sopaipilla for the first time (though not really my thing), but I did get a good tip for thinning out honey from Gerrit.
My final shot of Isabelle for the day. I'm guessing Gerrit and Sarah are glad I took so many photos of her for their gallery!
