Welcome to New Mexico!

After some on and off nagging on Gerrit and Sarah's part (and P's offer to fly me out for business), I made my first trip to New Mexico. Of course, I had my fear of flying anxiety for about two weeks leading up to the trip, but it soon subsided after the plan took off from MSP. I arrived in ABQ late in the morning, meeting Sarah, Gerrit, and Izzy at the airport.

After our much overdue hello's (after not having seen each other for awhile), Gerrit drove us to see this house that he wanted me to photograph for its rather odd architecture.

A broken well that was outside the house across the street from the house shown above. We then headed off to Flying Star Cafe on Historic Route 66 for lunch. It's a nice semi-fast food / sandwich place that apparently has good desserts (we did not get any though).

Taken outside the restaurant. I love these lights! We then headed back to their place so I could unpack and get settled in.

Gerrit gave me the grand tour, including his rather large front and back yards. He has quite the green thumb, with tons of different plants and flowers growing. I am jealous of his peach tree, roses, and strawberry plants!

Izzy was excited to have me visit, since she gets someone else to play with her. She was having a great time showing me around the yard with Gerrit.

I got to meet their three dogs for the first time. Hot Dog and Sysco are the pugs in the photo. They are so much fun! For some reason, I do not have ANY photos of Odie though. I'm not sure how that happened. I will have to get some of him on the next trip out to Albuquerque.
